The cloud has a lot to offer users today – in particular, the capability to save local storage space.
By storing your files in the cloud, you don’t have to worry about maxing out your local storage, or investing in a massive external hard drive or SD card. The cloud offers seemingly limitless space for your work files, kept safe and secure for when you need them.
To further this benefit, Microsoft is proud to preview a new feature to go along with their OneDrive cloud platform – Files On-Demand. This latest innovation will allow OneDrive users to access all their work and personal files in the cloud without having to download them to a local device. This new feature will be coming to Windows 10 soon, with a preview this summer, and will be fully available with the Fall Creators Update.
OneDrive Files On-Demand offers a number of new features, including:
- Anytime, anywhere access to files without having to download them
- The ability to share files directly from File Explorer (and Mac’s Finder) through the SharePoint Virtual Summit
- The option to send sharing links to users both inside and outside your business staff
- Simple management of sharing permissions you have granted, with control over how long the permissions last
With OneDrive Files On-Demand, you won’t have to use your local storage for work files any longer – just keep them in the cloud! Look for OneDrive Files On-Demand to start rolling out by July of this year.
